Light the night walk

We did a light the night walk with the east 8 floor today. They usually have it in a park but since we are in the hosptial we have it in the hallway. The gold is in rememberence of those lost, white is for survivors and red is for caregivers. Jack had fun too. I gave a little speech for the caregivers and then we walked around the hall 3 times.

Also, Jack likes watching Cake Boss in Emily's bed.

Last first week

So we are in the hospital for Emily's last first week of chemo. We should be home free by Saturday. The first day went without a hitch and now it's just getting used to sleeping on an upgraded floor lol.
We have resolved to look for the best things in each day so today we are watching the price is right and eating pop tarts.
October is going to be a big and fun month with family and friends coming to utah for various reasons. Emily is stronger than usual and so we are hopeful that this round of chemo won't effect her as much as they have in the past. Wish us luck and check in if you want to stop by for a visit.

Jokes!

As much as I liked the white one. Emily chose the only one better than the white one!

Wigs

Her counts were good and she is still cancer free. We may be admitted on friday. She did find a wig that she liked though! The white one is the winner!

Conference room waiting

We are waiting in the conference room to find out the test results of Emily's last biopsy. We are both pretty nervous but only because we have had to wait for so long. She still hasn't had her 4th cycle of treatments and we are crossing our fingers that she will be good enough today to maybe start her last cycle this week.

Jack is doing good. He has had a lot of poopy diapers the last few days but he isn't sick or dehydrated. Maybe he is just learning how to push on command? I'll update you all more when we know more.

Eventful week

Counts are on the rise. Emily's red blood, white blood and neutrophils weren't good enough yet last Wednesday. So they wanted to do another bone marrow biopsy. They scheduled it for today (Friday) and they were able to sedate her more heavily. They could have given her more but they were concerned that her blood pressure was pretty low.

Her procedure went well and her counts are slowly coming up. She is doing well. A little sore but happy to be out of the hospital still. We go in on Tuesday to do blood work and then Wednesday we go in for the lab results of her biopsy.

Jack is doing well and is scooting a little while he is on his back. He gets cuter everyday. He smiles more and is more aware of what's going on around him. We got him a batman Halloween costume that looks great on him.

I ran my last spartan race of the year and earned my trifecta with Emily's brother Joe and his wife Krystle who also earned their trifecta. Next year they have a goal of earning a double trifecta.

I also attended and auditioned for a choir/symphony combo. We will see how it goes. They practice in Provo and I'm thinking that it will be too far to drive.

Thanks to the Thomas family for letting me stay with them while in Canada. Also to the Ricks for letting me crash at their place and snuggle with Bowser.

Emily's blonde wig is from Walmart and is for a costume but she rocks it. The rock is from the Bynum agate shop on the way to Canada. It's called peacock stone. Pretty cool.

Emily, Brad and I went to lunch and then went to Rustic Home Furnishings and found the most comfy couches and chairs.
We also got Jack a bimbo thing. He's on the fence about this whole sitting up thing.
